klishta

Klishta shares a root with klesha, and that is the whole of its meaning here. A vritti is klishta when one of the five kleshas is feeding it, or when it feeds one of them in turn. Vyāsa's test is what a movement of the mind draws on and what it leaves behind, not how it feels while it happens. Accurate knowledge held to make someone look clever is klishta, because pride is what it waters.
