B.K.S. Iyengar

B.K.S. Iyengar (1918–2014) was an Indian yoga teacher and the founder of Iyengar Yoga, known for precision of alignment and the use of props to make postures accessible. His books Light on Yoga and Light on Life shaped how a generation of Western practitioners approached asana. He studied under Krishnamacharya and taught for more than seventy years.
